The game looks slightly prettier with directx10 as you can have more advanced shaders. I didn't set the recommended specs, but I suspect that's why the recommended is Vista. I can assure you though, it runs perfectly fine on XP as well.

Edit: My dev computer runs XP so I'd know

I am very disappointed, it was probably the only game in here after a long time enjoyed

It runs on windows 7 too of course.

We are going to test regarding minimum requirements as well as recommended requirements. Will report back when we have it more tested. The listed above is a work in progress requirements and are set quite high.
