RE: Idea for DLC
I was thinking in a game mode that is something like this:
A medallion(or something) starts hidden in the map, it provides something to the team who has it(a little more fire power maybe), the objective of the teams is to do something You get the idea, the medallion is just a secondary thing to force more team work. One group will be in charge to find/protect the medallion in their base and the other team goes for the main objective...
For a profession:
A master of disguise (not a spy) that can hide in the map (nothing like walking around with invisibility cloak , this would suck in this kind of game ). He is able to "be" the environment unless he moves. His mainly weapon is the knife, for a secondary weapon, a hidden pistol that shots only once, it shots instantly where you're aiming when you select it (you can't walk around with it).
What you guys think?

RE: Idea for DLC
Not too sure what professions you have already, but i have a few ideas.
The Doc, Doesn't have to be a healer, but maybe give him a syrenge gun that slows players down, Or causes hallucinations, maybe like the cyanide bullets in No One Lives Forever. When you got hit by them you would see purple and green birds like you were tripping.
Bloody Mary, Inspired by the Lucas Arts Outlaws Character, She is a mean old hag. Big fat old lady with a Cigar hanging out her mouth. She preferes weapons like Sawed Off Shotguns, and Pepper Box Pistols.
The Moonshiner, He is always inebriated, maybe he actually staggers around in game and his crosshair has kind of a double vision effect on it, He can take a slug of moonshine and take a little more damage than usuall.

RE: Idea for DLC
Hm, seeing as two people have already posted about a healing class, I would suggest it would be a good move for a DLC profession.
What I believe is that the healer, perhaps called The Doc or something to that effect, should be able to heal teammates 3 by both parties staying stationary in the area for about 10 to 15 seconds. If it's already possible to heal teammates when close to one another, perhaps this profession should heal 3 to 5 times faster. Weapon proficiency could be the typical six-shooter and maybe a sawn-off shotgun, specializing in close to mid-range attacks. Synergy attacks could be poisoned bullets that deal damage after the initial hit. Looks are completely up to you, but if you want ideas I would suggest something like a rag over his face (like the Gunslinger) but spattered with blood and maybe a team-colored vest with more bits of red spattered along the sleeves of a white shirt.
Maybe a Bounty Hunter style profession as well. Weapons of choice could be dual revolvers that area bit slower to fire than the one and a lever-action rifle. He could specialize in close to long-range firepower but have a bit lower accuracy than other classes to make up for the added range. Synergy could be something along the lines of after a head-shot with the revolvers other teammates could dish out critical hits with any hit for 10 to 15 seconds. He could wear a team-colored duster that reaches near his feet.
Of course, these both could be adjusted however you wish, considering it is your game. If I think up anymore, I'll be sure and post them up here.
Never forget the Gunslinger's Creed, or have you forgotten the face of your father?

RE: Idea for DLC
In my opinion, it will be hard to judge correctly what other professions could be added without seeing how the game plays first.

RE: Idea for DLC
That may be, but there are a few videos out there showing off the gameplay and we already know about the four professions starting in it. Besides, this is kind of like giving them ideas so they can create more classes accordingly, seeing what people want and how they could balance it themselves. Contributing any bit to some future DLC is always fun.

True. I just don't want the core gameplay to be effected by an overwhelm of professions. You only need to do so many things.
For example, this healing class that everyone is preaching about. Can't you already heal each other by sticking together or something? I'm a little blurry on the details.
If a healing/medic class were to be created, I would be all for it, as long as it wasn't overpowered. I don't want it turning into a, "lets all run as a group around our healer" type of game.
If you ever play Red Faction: Guerilla, it sometimes ended up like that before they took the healing backpack out of certain playlists.

RE: Idea for DLC
I think you do heal next to each other. The healer class could possibly heal himself alone but slower with nobody nearby. With an additional player, they could heal faster and the more the faster it became. Maybe upwards to about 3 times as fast max. Taking damage during the process could halt it temporarily for 5 to 10 seconds and each hit keep resetting that invisible countdown/cooldown to healing again. Obviously, don't make it overpowered but I'm sure the devs have spent plenty of time balancing the starting professions well enough that they'd know how to work it in. I would love to hear other people's ideas and more of them. It's pretty fascinating how creative some folks get and how it spurs on other's creativity.
